“You are my sunshine” – The Story of a Sunshine Day, by Billie Jean King

The sun shines down on the Golden Gate Bridge as it passes over the Golden State on a sunny day in July, 2016.
The bridge is built by the California State Water Resources Control Board, and it’s the site of an annual festival that brings people from all over the world to enjoy a day of sunshine, swimming, surfing, and other outdoor activities.
Billie Jean and her husband, Joe, were the first people to use a walkie-talkie to make a recording of their daughter, Bibi, talking to her mother.
“I’ve been listening to her talk to her mom for three years,” Billie remembers.
“That day, we started filming, and we were like, ‘This is it.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen this, like, normal dialogue.’
It was crazy.”
“It was the first I’ve seen a video like this,” Joe says.
“And it was so inspiring.”
Bibi was 12 years old when her mother died, leaving the family without a parent.
She was living in an orphanage in the San Francisco Bay Area, and she didn’t have a voice.
Billie and Joe wanted to make her a part of the festival, and they recorded a video that was to be used at the festival.
But Bibi’s parents were not happy about the video, so Billie asked Joe to come in the house with her and do it.
Billie says she was so moved by the video that she was ready to cry.
“It’s like a miracle,” she says.
Joe is not so sure.
“The reason she’s crying is because she wants to share that video, and the only way she could do that is if it was the only video she could get,” Joe explains.
“If she could share that in a video, then I could share it with Bibi.”
After making the video and the song, Joe took the video to the water board and told them what he had recorded.
The water board then decided to allow the video on the festival grounds, and Joe’s song was played during the water festival.
“I was really surprised by the reaction from the board,” Joe said.
“They just seemed like they were shocked.
I had never heard a board be so supportive of an artist, especially someone that they had never seen before.
And then it was like, this is what we have, this was all done for us.”
As the video went viral, Joe had an immediate response from the water boards’ board chair.
“We were really thrilled,” Joe remembers.
“She had no idea how much support we had received from the Water Board, because we had never done anything like that before,” Joe continues.
“She was just really proud of us.”
“The video of me crying, it just blew me away,” Billies says.
She is still emotional by the end of the video.
“There was no one else on earth that could do what we did that day,” Billy says.
For more than 30 years, Billie has recorded the story of her life in her song.
She also writes songs about her experiences and the lives of people in her community.
She has performed the song to audiences from across the country and around the world.
As her daughter Bibi was born in 1991, her mother’s life took a drastic turn.
She began to have seizures and a condition called pre-term labor, which caused her to pass away in 2003.
She had died from complications from her pregnancy.
After watching the video of her daughter crying on the bridge, Billies took the decision to create a video of Bibi.
In the video she sings, “I can see you now.
I can see your face.
I’m going to hold you tight.
I won’t let you go.”
She wrote, “This is the life I’m living.
I have the power.
I will take you, B.J.”
The video, titled “You Are My Sunshine,” has been viewed more than 3.7 million times, and is still in the top 10 most viewed videos on YouTube.
The song was chosen as a winner of a California State Fair song contest, which recognizes the “most beautiful songs from the Golden West” that capture the spirit of the people who live there.
“This was the one thing I was proudest of when I made this video,” Billia says.
Billies hopes that other families can take the time to watch the video they made and understand the impact that Bibi and the other children in the community had on her life.
